Selling Goods or Services to the
Town
How to do business with the Town: Competitive bidding
practices are utilized as required by North Carolina
General Statutes and Town of Cary Policies and Procedures
to ensure that the best value in goods and services is
obtained through open vendor competition. In addition,
the Town participates in programs that allow the
opportunity to purchase under NC contracts and in
cooperative agreements with other governmental units.
Qualified bidders are invited to compete for the Town's business by submitting informal quotations or formal responses to Request for Proposals when the Town needs to
contract for materials, equipment or services. Request for Proposals are publicly advertised in local newspapers, and a vendor may request a copy of any current Request
for Proposals by contacting Purchasing. Prospective vendors may receive future mailings for bid requests if they are on the vendor list. You may print the Vendor
Information Form from this site or request a copy from the Purchasing Division, (919) 469-4105 or E-mail dan.elliott@townofcary.org. Complete and return the form to P O Box
8005, Cary, NC 27512-8005; or Fax (919) 469-4377.

Water Consumption - High
Usage
If you experience a
high utility bill, you may want to consider the
following:
- Frequent watering of
your lawn or flowers
- Frequent washing of
cars at home
- Leaky faucets
- An increase in the
number of people in your house
- Plumbing problems
- A toilet that
continues to run after flushing
- Silent toilet leaks
(put food color in the tank, do not flush; if
color seeps into the bowl, you have a
"silent leak")
- Broken water lines
(check your yard for wet spots)
- Spinning water meter
indicator (lift top of water meter; if indicator
is spinning and you are not currently using
water, you have a leak)
For more information regarding high water consumption, please call Customer Services at (919) 469-4050. See Water Conservation for other tips on reducing usage.
